Staff productivity and job satisfaction are largely determined by the quality of supervisor-staff relationships. Yet, in the world of long term care, it’s rare to find anyone with leadership as their sole or even primary responsibility. Nurses are looked to for leadership but through minimal leadership training in school and typically being task-focused, leadership often doesn’t come naturally. This program teaches you how to identify natural leaders, define their roles and help them grow.

Objectives:
As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:
  1. Recognize natural leadership potential
  2. More effectively build a strong, engaged team
  3. Appreciate the value of asking questions over lecturing as a counseling tool
  4. Use simple, effective techniques for counseling and discipline
During the presentation, lecture, humor and real life examples will be interspersed with group activity. PowerPoint slides are available to highlight key points and help maintain focus.

This program is designed specifically for a 1 to 1.5 hour format.
