Communication, Documentation is Barely the Beginning Dale Lind A basic truth in health care is, if it isn’t documented, it didn’t happen. Consequently, our communication process is largely focused on documentation to protect us from blood sucking lawyers, evil surveyors and disgruntled employees. Documentation, though necessary, at best reacts to already existing problems. Proactive communication through targeted employee recruitment, coaching and the understanding of how to use the voice and body as communication tools prevent most of the problems we work so hard to document.
