Reflection Living
A Staffing Program That Made a Real Difference
Completing this staffing program has been a gamechanger for our company. Before going through Clint and Cheryl&rdsquo;s staffing program, we experienced high turnover rates, struggled with poor staff attendance and retention, and had a hard time finding exemplary candidates. Clint and Cheryl challenged us to take a closer look at how we hire, onboard, and manage our team as a whole, and gave our “Super Team” practical strategies each week that have made a real difference.
We have completely changed our approach to hiring by becoming more intentional about finding the right staff for our roles and we learned how to set clearer expectations and create stronger accountability within our team. We quickly saw a positive cultural shift in our communities and our new staff members now have a more organized, and more welcoming start to their employment with us. Most importantly, we have seen a noticeable improvement in staff retention by creating a stronger workplace where good employees want to stay!
We are incredibly grateful for the guidance, structure, and resources Clint and Cheryl’s program provided. This program strengthened our team as a whole and helped us build a stronger foundation for long-term success. Reflection Living highly recommends this program to any company looking to improve staffing, onboarding, and retention!

I am pleased to offer my highest recommendation for Maun-Lemke. Their expertise in staffing strategy, retention improvement, and recruitment transformation delivers measurable and sustainable results for long term care organizations.
Our organization partnered with Maun-Lemke in a 16-week structured coaching process involving sixteen locations divided into two groups of eight. From the outset, their approach was disciplined, engaging, and results-oriented. The initial focus centered on implementing a strong 90-day protection program for new hires. From there, attention shifted to improving selection processes and eliminating inappropriate “quick hires.” Finally, the initiative emphasized strategic, team-based recruitment efforts to attract and retain the right individuals. Each location established a “Super Team” of five to seven members, led by the Administrator and inclusive of managers, supervisors, frontline team members, and the Director of Nursing. This inclusive structure fostered ownership, engagement, and accountability at every level of the organization.
Weekly 45-minute virtual coaching sessions with Maun-Lemke consultants were structured, high- energy, and solutions-focused. Teams shared results, discussed challenges, and learned from one another in an atmosphere of recognition and collaboration. Between sessions, Maun-Lemke consultants provided individualized follow-up, offering written feedback on weekly scorecards and progress notes, along with strategic guidance and barrier removal support.
The accountability process was exceptional. Weekly scorecards tracked key staffing metrics including:
- Targeted position hiring
- New hire separations
- Absenteeism
- Agency spend and hours
- Vacancy counts
- Leadership Rounding
- Employee referrals
Beyond the metrics, Maun-Lemke helped restore optimism, accountability, and a “can-do” mindset across our teams. Most importantly, sustainability plans were implemented to ensure long-term success. The improvements achieved during the 16-week process have been maintained, and our organization continues to benefit from a stabilized and thriving staffing model.
Maun-Lemke delivers more than consulting—they create transformation. I strongly recommend their services to any long-term care organization seeking measurable staffing improvements and a revitalized culture of engagement. We were so pleased with the first 16-week program, we signed up for a second 16-week program (2.0).

Our partnership with Maun-Lemke has been instrumental in helping our facility achieve our census goals in a short period of time. Their team brought a consistent approach, innovative ideas, and a strong commitment to our success.
What truly sets them apart is their ability to help us generate referrals beyond the traditional pipelines. Their strategic thinking, accountability, and ongoing support created sustainable growth and helped us reach new referral sources we had not previously tapped into.
We are grateful for their partnership and highly recommend Maun-Lemke to any organization looking to strengthen its census growth strategy.

I am writing to provide my strongest recommendation for Clint Maun and Cheryl Boldt of Maun-Lemke, with whom I had the pleasure of working with during a comprehensive employee retention initiative for our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facilities.
Clint and Cheryl served as consultants to our leadership team and brought a strategic, practical, and people-centered approach to one of the most challenging issues in long-term care: retaining quality staff while strengthening workplace culture. From the outset, Clint and Cheryl demonstrated a deep understanding of the healthcare workforce, particularly the operational and cultural pressures that are unique to our industry.
Throughout our engagement, Clint and Cheryl partnered effectively with executive leaders, administrators, and frontline management to assess retention risks, identify root causes of turnover, and implement actionable strategies. Their work went beyond theory—they provided clear frameworks, leadership coaching, and scalable solutions that could be applied consistently across multiple facilities while still respecting each building’s unique culture. As a Regional Director of Operations with our organization, it was extremely helpful to maintain accountability due to each location being tasked with completing a sustainability plan that was unique to their building.
One of Clint’s greatest strengths is his ability to engage leaders at all levels. Clint and Cheryl were able to build trust quickly, communicate with clarity, and challenge teams constructively, which resulted in increased accountability and renewed focus on employee engagement and retention. The initiative benefited not only our leadership teams but also our frontline staff, who experienced more consistent leadership practices and improved communication.
As a result of their involvement, we saw meaningful progress in leadership alignment, retention- focused practices, and organizational awareness around workforce sustainability. His contributions were instrumental in advancing our long-term retention goals and strengthening our overall culture across our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
I would highly recommend Maun-Lemke to any organization seeking knowledgeable, results- driven consultants with proven experience in employee retention—particularly within healthcare or long-term care environments. They would be a valuable asset to any leadership team.

Clint Maun’s team provided outstanding support and leadership throughout the 16-week Recruiting and Retaining program. His management of the recruiting and retention team kept us focused, engaged, and moving forward as we worked through the train-the-trainer process. Clint consistently offered practical insight and encouragement that helped translate program concepts into strategies our team could apply immediately.
What made the experience especially valuable was the opportunity to complete an actual recruiting and retention project during the program. Clint fostered an environment of collaboration and accountability that helped our team grow in both confidence and capability. As a result of his leadership, we finished the program better equipped with tools and strategies to strengthen our recruiting and retention efforts.

Memorial Hospital
Good morning Clint – My name is Will Stuflick, and I work with Ada here at Memorial Hospital. I wanted to take some time to share our remarkable turnaround in our turnover rate. Historically, we have averaged around 25% year over year. For the 2025 calendar year, we reduced that figure to 16%.
Our team recognizes that we played a significant role in this improvement through stronger hiring practices, enhanced onboarding, and focused retention efforts. At the same time, the six-month staffing fix Cheryl helped us implement made a meaningful impact in stabilizing those efforts. That support created the consistency our team needed to truly reset and build momentum.
We sincerely value our partnership with CLS and its associated partners. Wins like this reinforce the importance of collaboration and proactive problem solving. Please extend our sincere appreciation to Cheryl and your entire team for their dedication and support.
We look forward to continuing the momentum in 2026!
Best,
Will

I am writing to offer my recommendation for the Staffing Success Program developed and led by Maun Lemke. Based on our experience with this program, it stands out as a highly effective, well-structured approach to addressing some of the most persistent staffing challenges facing healthcare and human service organizations.
A defining strength of the Staffing Success Program is the clarity and consistency of communication throughout the process. The program is designed to engage participating teams through regular, structured touchpoints, clear expectations, and practical guidance. Information is delivered in a way that is accessible to both leadership and frontline staff, ensuring alignment, shared understanding, and sustained engagement across the organization.
Equally important is the level of commitment demonstrated by Maun Lemke through the program’s design and delivery. The Staffing Success Program is not a one-size-fits- all or short-term intervention. Instead, it reflects a deep investment in measurable improvement, accountability, and provides the tools necessary for long-term sustainability. The use of weekly scorecards, individualized coaching, and step-by-step assignments reinforces a disciplined process that supports real behavior change and operational results.
The program’s focus on retention, recruitment, and selection, paired with its emphasis on team-based participation creates an environment where organizations are empowered to take ownership of their staffing outcomes. This balance of structure, support, and accountability is what makes the Staffing Success Program particularly impactful.
I recommend the Staffing Success Program to organizations seeking a proven, practical, and committed partner in improving staffing stability and workforce engagement. Please feel free to contact me if additional information would be helpful.

It is with great confidence and appreciation that I provide this testimonial for Maunlemke Consulting, whose partnership has had a transformative impact on our organization over the course of a 16-week strategic initiative.
The engagement focused on recruitment, selection, and retention across 12 of our centers, and the results were both immediate and measurable. Over the 16-week period, we saw a remarkable 210 new hire starts, demonstrating the effectiveness of Maunlemke's recruitment and onboarding strategies.
Just as importantly, Maunlemke implemented targeted new hire protection measures and retention components, new hire turnover was lowered to an annualized rate of 13.7%. This improvement speaks directly to the quality of the processes and support structures put in place.
We also experienced a substantial 18% decrease in employee callouts from Week 1 to Week 16, reflecting both increased accountability and improved workforce morale. In tandem with these quantitative results, we observed a clear increase in employee engagement—a cultural shift that has energized our teams and strengthened our operational resilience.
A particularly valuable aspect of Maunlemke's approach is their commitment to sustainability. At the conclusion of the initiative, each of our 12 centers was equipped with tailored sustainability plans, ensuring the long-term success of the improvements made and providing a clear roadmap for continued progress.
Maunlemke Consulting brings both strategic insight and operational excellence to every facet of their work. I would recommend them without reservation to any organization seeking measurable outcomes and long-term workforce solutions.

Partnering with Maun-Lemke completely transformed our market position and referral pipeline. We were struggling with low skilled payor census and needed a strategic approach to strengthen our relationships with key referral sources and position ourselves as the preferred skilled nursing partner in our market.
The team at Maun-Lemke developed a comprehensive strategy that elevated our brand presence and built meaningful connections with hospitals, physicians, and case managers. From creating compelling marketing materials that showcased our clinical capabilities to implementing targeted outreach programs and hosting community events, they helped us become top-of-mind for skilled nursing referrals.
Within 6 months, we saw a 45% increase in our skilled payor census, driven by stronger referral relationships and improved market awareness. Their approach wasn't just about promotion—they helped us identify our unique value propositions and communicate them effectively to decision- makers who control patient placements.
What set them apart was their deep understanding of the SNF referral ecosystem and their ability to create authentic relationships rather than just transactional interactions. They positioned us as a trusted partner, not just another facility competing for admissions.
I would highly recommend Maun-Lemke to any skilled nursing facility looking to strengthen their market presence and build sustainable referral relationships. Their expertise and strategic approach delivered measurable results that continue to benefit our company.

CommCare Management Corporation
It is with great enthusiasm that I share our experience with Maun-Lemke’s, Your Staffing: Refresh-Stabilize- Thrive enhancing staffing consistency program. CommCare Corporation, as an LTC healthcare organization, faces persistent staffing challenges, so we sought a solution that would not only address our immediate needs but also create sustainable, long-term improvements. This program delivered beyond our expectations.
Over the course of the 16-week engagement, we experienced a 25% reduction in open positions, a critical improvement that directly impacted our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality care. Even more impressive was the 25.4% increase in 90-day employee retention, a testament to the program’s focus on onboarding, engagement, and cultural alignment.
One of the most transformative outcomes was the 58% reduction in clinical position employee exits within the first 90 days. This shift not only stabilized our workforce but also significantly reduced the time and resources spent on constant recruitment and training.
Beyond the numbers, the program brought an enormous ROI in organizational culture. Our teams are more connected, communication has improved, and there is a renewed sense of purpose and pride in our work. The cultural transformation has been palpable and deeply impactful.
From a financial perspective, the results speak for themselves. After accounting for the cost of the program, based on labor related expense reductions, CommCare’s 17 SNF and AL/IL facilities realized a total ROI of $732,438. This return underscores the value of investing in a focused Maun-Lemke mentoring approach to workforce stabilization.
We wholeheartedly recommend Maun-Lemke’s Your Staffing: Refresh-Stabilize-Thrive program to any organization seeking to revitalize their staffing strategy, enhance hiring principles, improve employee retention, reduce labor related expense, and foster a thriving workplace culture. It has been a game-changer for us.

To Whom in May Concern:
We’ve had a great experience with the Maun-Lemke group. We, like many organizations, have been faced with challenges in labor in several markets. Clint’s team was able to help us sure up a lot of our processes and implement new ones that have been highly effective. We have been able to see good results with 60 day turnover that we have been very pleased with. We actually have moved ahead with an advanced program after our initial program because of the success we have realized. We have been grateful for their help and attention to an area we needed to improve and they have delivered on improving on those pain points for us. We would recommend their team to help any organization struggling with labor challenges in today’s market.

Avon Health Center
I want to thank you and Cheryl for a very informative and productive 16 weeks of the Staffing Consistency Group Coaching Program. Our team at Avon Health Center found the program informative and instructive. It brought us back to many of the basic principles of successful recruitment and staffing. We have bought a warehouse full of bubble wrap to use with our new team members during their first 90 days!
We benefited from things like not moving staff off a unit for 90 days. We really believe this has helped us retain new staff. A key part of the success was including our veteran staff in the onboarding and training process. This has helped them take more ownership in building our team and take part of the success. Carefully selecting staff mentors who genuinely wanted to be part of our onboarding team made a big difference in their commitment to the program. We also learned to better manage the applicant process, including not chasing applicants that are not responsive. We are better equipped to judge applicants during the interview process; and identifying red flags during the first 90 days.
Thanks so much for helping us get better at staffing and onboarding at Avon Health Center.

First, I would like to thank you and Cheryl for working with my two facilities through your 16- week Recruiting / Retention program. The two facilities found the program to be rigorous, focused and fun. We accomplished the following items from our participation in the program:
- 31 New Hires into our nursing departments combined.
- Decrease in absenteeism by 36%.
- $ 1.2m annualized reduction in nursing agency expenses.
- Turnover trending toward a 50% reduction over prior year.
- Sustainability plans in place requiring monthly follow-up with Senior Leadership.
Perhaps the largest gain was watching each facility team grow together, celebrate their results and sustain the process after the program concluded. The value of your program has now been extended to all facilities in our portfolio.
I would highly recommend your program to any provider, regardless of their staffing challenges because your program works and the focus on retention within the program was just as beneficial as the recruiting.
Thank you again for allowing us to participate in your program.

I would like to thank you for the excellent job you did in leading our 16-week retention program. Our goal was to increase our retention by 30% during that time and we actually did 30.2%.
You and Cheryl have a tremendous depth of knowledge which you have leveraged into a great program that was customized for us. The program got us to reset the best practices that we had gotten away from during COVID and definitely put us on the road to success.
I very much appreciate that your program is set up for us to manage past the initial 16-weeks. You are definitely teaching us the principals we need to follow. The ultimate success, as much as we benefited from you and Cheryl, is based on the efforts of my team but your guidance through this program put us on a great trajectory.
I have no doubt that Marklund will continue to benefit from our experience with you which will mean building upon our early success and increasing our ability to recruit and retain excellent staff.

I am writing to highly recommend the Maun-Lemke Speaking and Consulting program, run by Clint and Cheryl, that we participated in for 16 weeks. This program was extremely beneficial in helping us recruit nursing staff and CNAs for our organization.
Clint and Cheryl’s expertise in recruitment and their innovative approach to finding qualified candidates made a significant impact on our hiring process. Through their program, we were able to attract a larger pool of candidates and ultimately hire 162 staff in 16 weeks by 12 centers to join our team.
Their dedication to understanding our specific needs and tailoring their recruitment strategies to meet those needs was truly impressive. They were always available to provide support and guidance throughout the entire process, and their professionalism and attention to detail were evident in every interaction we had with them.
Overall, the Recruitment Rodeo program as we called it at Champion exceeded our expectations and was instrumental in helping us meet our staffing goals. I would not hesitate to recommend Clint and Cheryl to any organization looking to enhance their recruitment efforts.

Good Samaritan Society
The Good Samaritan Society’s first Maun-Lemke cohort was a great success! For 16 weeks, our eight participating locations went all-in (like our Ascenders in Loveland, Colorado) and experienced results that made it a no-brainer to continue with two additional cohorts this year. In both urban and deep rural locations, our Super Teams hired and engaged team members at a whole different level. Overall, we experienced a boost in the energy in these communities.
Here are some results we are especially excited about:
- Reduced weekly agency usage by 200 hours.
- Increased the retention rate of employees in their first 90 days by 30%.
- Made 102 hires.
- Cut absences in half from week 1 to week 16.
- Fewer instances of candidate ghosting after making a job offer.
Clint and Cheryl’s common-sense strategies, along with their disciplined coaching model, will move the needle with locations that own the process from day one.
We look forward to working with Maun-Lemke as we continue to provide high-quality, mission-driven care to all of those who call the Good Samaritan Society home.

I wanted to officially thank all of you for the time you spent working with our Critical Access Hospitals during the Accelerated Staffing Fix Program. The program was received very well, the teams had many successes as well as implementing new policies and procedures.
Sharon and I have been doing site visits throughout our state and have received wonderful feedback about the accomplishments and the fun the hospitals had doing the program. They are all very proud of what they were able to do and are excited to continue moving forward with the skills that they learned during the program. We had the opportunity to see some of the boards the teams made. You could still hear their excitement around it.
You can see the pride the staff have in what they were able to accomplish. One of the facilities is even making up a song about bubble wrapping. They promised to share it once it was completed. One facility also shared that their vacancies have decreased from 3 pages to 1.5 pages. Clint and Cheryl are the “magic sauce”.
During our site visits it was suggested that the cohort continue to meet quarterly so they can continue to brainstorm, share accomplishments and keep the momentum going. Rochelle and I will facilitate this for them.
Again, thank you for everything that you did.

Clint’s program provided the framework for our leaders to retain and attract quality employees. The program provided the foundation from the ground up and allows for sustainability into the future. Both Cheryl and Clint are ‘out of the box’ thinkers and shared creative ways that challenged the status quo. The results speak for themselves in terms of reducing absenteeism, improving retention, significantly reducing agency spend, boosting morale, and focusing on a team based approach. Most importantly, the program focused on a high level of accountability at both the facility and corporate level. The data and information was disseminated, analyzed and reported on each week which kept the initiative front and center. This has been an invaluable tool in today’s competitive market.

Senior Living Communities
I write this letter with appreciation and admiration for the efforts and results our organization (Senior Living Communities, LLC) generated as a result of our collaboration with Maun Lemke Consulting.
Our joint effort targeted recruitment and retention of team members at our retirement communities - clearly a challenge for many of those operating a business in or outside of our industry during this labor crisis. One of the differences we found that separated Maun Lemke’s approach was their strategies were designed specifically for senior living organizations. This generated immediate credibility within our leadership as opposed to utilizing other strategies that are designed in a more general scope but attempted to adapt to our industry.
In the 16-week collaboration, our 8 Communities had some impactful outcomes:
- 225 new hire starts
- $85,500 per week average agency reduction; $4,450,000 annualized savings
- Only 9% new hire turnover after the Implementation of the 90-day “protection” program
While many of us hope the current labor crisis is a “moment in time,” a major advantage to the strategies we gleaned from Maun Lemke is that they are universal to our departments and timeless. It is without reservation that I recommend their services to others in the senior living space.

Avamere Living
I want to express my sincere gratitude for our completion of the first Avamere recruitment retention cohort. I personally had a great time participating in the 16-week course and team coaching calls. I greatly appreciated the candid mentoring conversations that you and I were able to have during the week. Our twelve Avamere facilities achieved outstanding results including:
- 129 new hire starts
- Major absence reduction of over 55%
- Agency Spend down significantly
- 100 new employees in the 90-day protection program
- New programs and systems in place with ongoing sustainability plans in motion
As with many companies, there have been previous attempts to implement various recruitment retention initiatives. Your program was structured for sustainability and focused on achieving measurable outcomes. I have been so impressed with the results that Avamere made the decision to begin a second and third cohort to codify the strategies in all our communicates. This includes involving key leaders at the home office support services. We have also designated a phase II cohort that will focus on sustainability and advanced strategies. I highly recommend any company that wants to improve their culture, staff engagement and retention implement the course strategies.
Again I appreciate the work you and Cheryl have accomplished and Im looking forward to continued partnership and success.

Our company just completed a cycle of Clint Maun’s recruitment and retention program.
The process and results were amazing. Staff were engaged as l’ve seldom seen as they had fun, were energized and focused on the task at hand - ridding the facilities of overtime and agency staff and having sufficient staff to provide quality care.
We achieved through this process:
- 275 New Hires
- Absence/Call Out reduction - an annualized minimum of $3,000,000
- 209 new hires in the 90-day protection program
- Significant agency spend reduction
- Morale improvement and a positive culture
- Significant turnover reduction especially with new employees in the first 90 days
We have now initiated the program in a second grouping of facilities and look forward to the rewards.

Nye Health Services
I write this letter of recommendation with extreme enthusiasm. Our team worked with Clint and Cheryl over a 16 week period to address our staffing needs. We were having a difficult time staffing and retaining team members at our 5 campuses. The process that Clint has developed is truly amazing. We cut our agency spend significantly and our retention of team members has been dramatic.
Clint and Cheryl facilitate their process in a way that gets buy in from leaders and allows our team to celebrate along the way. Our teams actually looked forward to the weekly meetings because they were seeing positive results that led to less agency spend and more Nye employees living out our mission, vision and values.
I highly recommend Clint and his process to anyone interested in building a strong team as well as a focus on retention. I appreciate Clint’s commitment and desire to genuinely want to help improve companies bottom lines by providing a detailed process. I would offer up that if you would like to discuss our experience further you can call me direct at 402-677-5409.

Central Management Company
As the C.O.O. of Central Management Company, LLC, I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Clint Maun and his company. Maun-Lemke Speaking and Consulting, LLC, has done an outstanding job and delivered the results we were seeking!
Recently, we had eleven of our centers participate in Clint’s program and our ending results were incredible. We gained 83 in census and 62 in skilled! Increase in census, means increase in revenue and that is another accomplished goal. We have never regretted our decision to partner with the Clint Maun program as the program’s initiatives deliver the desired results.
Clint and Cheryl Boldt work well together as a team and know how to get our staff motivated to accomplish the census goals. It is a pleasure to recommend their services and to commend them on a job well done. Please consider Maun-Lemke Speaking and Consulting, LLC, you will not regret it! Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Signature HealthCARE
I recently had the pleasure of working with Clint Maun and the Maun-Lemke team during my time as Senior Vice President of Operations with Signature HealthCARE. The focus of our engagement was to help the 24 selected facilities solve the workforce challenges facing the Senior Living Industry that was only exacerbated by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Clint and his team pushed us to think differently, lead differently, and in the end get different results.
Clint repeatedly said in the beginning, “this isn’t rocket science”. He wasn’t wrong, but the way he and his team communicate, teach, and hold everyone individually accountable to the process is a difference maker. We were able to set goals and had some amazing results such as: Reduced contract labor spend in the group by $30K per week over the 16-week engagement, reduce turnover significantly, and increase our hiring numbers to record levels.
I am thankful for the partnership with Maun-Lemke and I am confident myself and the leaders involved now have the tools to continue winning this battle. I would recommend any organization engage Clint and his team if they are ready to take control back of their workforce challenges.

EHM Senior Solutions
EHM Senior Solutions recently partnered with Maun-Lemke for two consecutive engagements focused on Revenue Enhancement (Occupancy and Skilled Medicare/Managed Care). The first engagement encompassed our full continuum and the second engagement focused on skilled nursing. We had a great experience that pushed the teams to think differently and to question the status quo.
Both Clint Maun and Cheryl Boldt were simultaneously high-level mentors yet down to earth communicators. Our team worked hard, learned a lot, and experienced a level of team accountability that they had not previously. We set some weekly stretch goals and we learned how to reach them.
As the leader of the team, I was impressed with the growth amongst team members during the two-phase engagement. Maun-Lemke has given us tools that we can self-sustain moving forward and we are grateful for the experience.

Central Management Company
It is my privilege to write a letter of reference for Clint Maun and his company, Maun-Lemke Speaking and Consulting, LLC, as we feel that they do an outstanding job!
Our experience with the Clint Maun program has always been a good one that accomplishes the goals that we set out to accomplish, increased revenue due to increase in census. Simply put, his program works! Once we implemented his program in our facilities, we saw an increase in census growth of 10 to 15 patients on average in each.
Clint works hard with the teams and keeps them on task working toward the common goal. He and Cheryl Boldt are a great team, knowledgeable in the business with a dedication to seeing the job through to the end with the desired results. It is my pleasure to recommend their services to anyone who desires to improve their business. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I'm writing this letter to say “Thank You” for the support and consultation that you have provided to our HSM communities over the past several years. It is with great enthusiasm and confidence that I highly recommend your organization for consultative support services in the healthcare space.

Client Staffing Success Summary
Maun-Lemke worked with a group of four midwestern skilled nursing centers through February 25, 2021. The group participated in our 16-week coaching process related to Recruitment, Selection and Retention of Quality Employees.
Their involved, invigorated participation led to great success with our systems, techniques and methodologies. The results are as follows:
- At the completion of the coaching 70 employees had been hired during the 16-week process:
- 6 RNs
- 13 LPNs
- 6 Medication Technicians
- 33 Certified Nursing Assistants
- 12 Dietary coworkers
- There were only 15 positions remaining to fill in the 4 centers as of 2/25/21 with a good pipeline for applicants and a method to build talent-based advertisements.
- They increased staff engagement in the overall process measured by:
- staff referrals
- staff satisfaction scores
- participation in planned activities
- staff written comments
- home office involvement
- They lost only 6 employees (3 were career advancement situations) in the 4 centers during the last 8 weeks of the initiative when systems, techniques and methodologies for retention were in place.
- By the end of the initiative, daily staff absence was reduced by over 60%.
- Agency staff utilization had been eliminated in the largest center with the other 3 centers on plan to be agency free by 3/30/21.
- They have a sustainability plan in place to ensure continued success.
This all occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic which included vigorous infection control procedures, infection control surveys, staff testing, vaccination clinics etc. The use of a center-based team with weekly coaching/feedback on proven processes along with accountable reporting can produce major success.

United Church Homes
During the height of the pandemic, public concern about nursing homes was not favorable - right or wrong. We needed to reestablish credibility with our stakeholders and communicate that we remained an excellent service provider and community asset. Additionally, we wanted to brand and showcase the only “Life Plan Community” in the market by highlighting our two separate campuses which operate six miles apart. Enter Maun & Associates.
Clint Maun and Cheryl Boldt are experienced and highly resourceful. They have a unique approach that proved to be very successful – especially in our situation. Rather than train a leader or marketing/sales specialist, they train an entire team, a cohort. It proved to be an effective way to build team camaraderie by sharing leadership and training all members to be able to back each other up. The team was energized by continuous support, encouragement, new ideas and positive feedback. The result of this approach was optimal engagement and excellent results.
Deadlines were enforced in a kind way that promoted accountability within the team(s). This practice will carry forward in many areas of our operations.
Clint and Cheryl reinforced the idea of being good people first and watching the rest fall into place. The community workforce is comprised of great people and great teams, but we often forget to showcase this to the greater community.
Clint and Cheryl urge aggressiveness in striving to achieve growth targets. It is important to “mind the shop” by managing the back door during off-hours when it’s easy to lose our grip on what is best for the resident vs. the staff or convenient for the physician.
The Maun & Associates program encourages continuously looking for ways to grow service lines, by looking at barriers and moving them towards opportunities when it comes to admissions.
Finally, Clint and Cheryl helped to foster a stronger sense of shared ownership between the two sites, thus expanding the walls of the respective communities - creating UNITED CHURCH HOMES of Marietta instead of Glenwood Community and Harmar Place. Without question we were extremely satisfied with the concept, execution and most importantly, the results (see chart below).
| Glenwood | Assisted Living - The Pines | 48 | 41 | 7 | |
| Independent Living | 61 | 44 | 17 | ||
| Cottages | 12 | 12 | - | ||
| Harmar Place | Skilled Nursing | 86 | 75 | 11 |

Capital Health
Thank you for working with our organization in the areas of revenue maximization and staffing best practices. As long-time operators of skilled nursing facilities, we, along with others in our industry, are dealing with new challenges that we have never experienced before. The COVID-19 pandemic has upset our traditional referral patterns, resulting in less referrals, and increased staffing shortages. No one person can waive a magic wand to remedy these challenges, buy your firm’s approach and instillation of best practices have given our team a clear strategy to meet our challenges head on.
As you know, we originally asked you to work with us over a period of four months. After we worked with you and Cheryl, we recognized the value in your services, and have extended our professional relationship multiple times. The cost of your firm’s services has proven to be a good investment that we can draw upon both now and in the future. Thanks again for your guidance and friendship. It is appreciated.

MK Management Services
It is my pleasure to recommend the services of Maun-Lemke Consulting Group. MK Management Services has been involved in the skilled nursing industry for over 43 years. Over the many years we have been associated with the Maun-Lemke Group through seminars, webinars, private corporate meetings and individual consulting arrangements. In each situation, we have always felt that the Maun-Lemke Consulting Group was top notch.
Most recently, we retained their services to assist in census building. This 16-week program was very successful in many ways. In addition to census development, the Maun-Lemke Group offered many recommendations in day-to-day operational issues. They were always willing to discuss and assist in any way possible.
Their creativity and knowledge of the industry is above and beyond most other consulting groups. They excel in the ability to communicate in a manner that is professional and courteous, while being direct and effective.
Please consider them for any of your independent consulting needs. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Advantage Living
Advantage Living Centers located in Southfield, MI had the pleasure of working with the Maun Lemke group over the past year and a half. We engaged the group because we were not making headway in census development or in achieving the quality outcomes we were striving to attain. Clint and Cheryl proactively worked with our facilities to initiate 12 week plans and instill corporate discipline into the organization to help us achieve our goals.
The plan started in January 2020 with a 2 day kick off that ignited the teams and educated all on the process. Through focused calls, feedback reports, 1:1 education, and team building we worked the plans throughout the pandemic and were able to hold our own, despite the impact of COVID on our facilities. We continue to stay ahead of the national average in corporate wide average census and have improved our community presence and image throughout.
Clint and Cheryl worked with passion and diligence to help each facility see where they needed to go and how to work with their teams to address internal controls. From census, to staffing to clinical issue, they worked together to help Advantage instill systems in each building to help us rebuild during this difficult time. In addition, they worked with our corporate team to monitor outcomes and challenge the facilities to achieve the established goals.
The Maun Lemke group approach is positive, but with a high level of accountability. We believe this was the key reasons why we have achieved so much success. The weekly feedback reports provide the positive reinforcement needed for continued motivation. The reports also point out areas where improvements are needed or where deeper root cause analysis may be warranted. They are very hands on with the organization.
We have enjoyed working with the Maun Lemke group and mostly appreciate the outcomes we achieved under the tutelage. I would recommend the group to anyone who is looking to achieve higher financial returns and improve culture.

Senior Living Properties
This year, as Senior Living Properties faced the daunting task of rebounding occupancy and revenue in a world still facing the challenges of the pandemic (vaccination compliance, workforce availability, etc.) we leaned on strategic partners to help us face the hard work of recovery. Maun Lemke was ready and able to assist our center teams to get back out into their towns and reinvest in community partnership and relationships. Clint and Cheryl were assigned a group of centers in markets significantly impacted by COVID-19 and needed to rebuild confidence in their ability to serve those in need.
Over the course of 16 weeks the Maun Lemke team led the center IDT- Super Teams with very specific tactical projects and behaviors to increase contacts, referrals and admissions while also focusing on discharge management, especially over the weekend. As a result of the weekly coaching, guidance, feedback and celebrations this group of centers were able to improve 5 ADC/center which was 40% greater ADC growth/center than the centers who did not participate in the program. The attention to detail and follow-through over the 16-weeks for these select centers made a significant impact. The program was effective and worth the investment.

Senior Living Properties
Senior Living Properties operates in a similar fashion as most LTC companies. We are group of very hard working, well intentioned people with multiple plates spinning at any given time. As a result, we make it hard on ourselves to really laser in and focus on specific issues for meaningful periods of time. This issue was even more pronounced in 2020 when each Administrator, DON, Regional and Corporate employee was also inundated with the crisis of COVID-19 and tsunami of the personal and professional stress and burden that brought with it.
One of our 2020 Strategic Goals was to improve employee engagement and reduce turnover by 10% in each center. We were excited to start this endeavor with the support of Clint Maun and his team right before the national public health emergency was announced. We debated postponing the entire program for the year but ultimately decided this initiative could not wait and we needed to double down on our intention to appreciate our center team members and prevent people from leaving not only our company but the industry all together.
I was warned that Clint and Cheryl do not relent and do not let the leaders (myself included) slack on the work at hand. Each week they equipped us with meaningful, yet reasonable and important work assignments to build a culture committed to recruiting and retaining HIGH QUALITY employees. They helped track performance while also recognizing and celebrating wins along the way. They were flexible with expectations as the pandemic has required each of us to extend more grace to ourselves and one another.
By the end of our 12-weak cycle of support we had netted 80 new employees (new hires – terminations) across 11 centers which made a huge impact on staffing levels and overall morale. Additionally, the company had its highest Employee Trust score on it’s annual employee engagement survey; I am certain several of the programs our center “Super Teams” implemented as part of this program played a roll in this improved performance metric. We are also on tract to reduce turnover by more than 10% company-wide.
Clint and his team are an extension of our team and we are so grateful for them.

Commonwealth Care of Roanoke
I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Clint Maun and his team consistently over the past 8 years. Clint in particular has always been very astute and is always aware of not only the current state of health care but has an uncanny knack, through preparation and attention to detail, that guides us in strategies for the future in addition to pragmatic approaches to current challenges. He and his team stay engaged and are very timeline driven which keeps people on task and always delivers product as promised and on time.
I would be happy to discuss specifics about our engagement with Clint which has been a living engagement, always changing and morphing to address the barriers both at the C level and throughout our organization. His style is also one that keeps people engaged and therefore leads to better outcomes regardless of the issue. Clint has worked with CCR on revenue issues, retention issues and issues that encourage and motivate the idea of agility in a profession that changes rapidly, whether it be payment, regulatory or organizationally driven.
I am pleased to recommend Clint and the entire team at Maun-Lemke for their service having lived it. Clint has been and will continue to be a part of our strategy at CCR.

Community Wellness Partners
I have had the pleasure working with Clint Maun for several years on a variety of projects.
Mr. Maun’s insights into marketing and employee recruitment and retention have had a major impact on our organization. His 12 week plan approach has been very effective in increasing census at the Presbyterian Home for Central New York from 86% to 95% with an increase in Medicare census from the mid-20s to 37. His work with our management team has enabled us to significantly increase staffing and become agency free for both nurses and certified nursing assistances. These accomplishments have allowed us to stabilize operations and restore a positive operating margin.
Clint’s empowering and teaching approach with staff has been instrumental in Presbyterian Home’s turn around. I would recommend him without hesitation as a nursing home consultant.

Focused Post Acute Care Partners
I wanted to take this opportunity and share the tremendous success that the Maun-Lemke team enabled my teams to achieve in multiple organizations. My relationship started 8 years ago in 2011 at Senior Care Centers on a small project focused on a limited number of communities that were specifically struggling with Quality census mix and a somewhat soft total ADC. I was skeptical of the type of results that Clint and his team felt could be achieved but committed anyway to the engagement. Immediately, in those communities we saw a positive impact. First, a defined system developed by Maun-Lemke was introduced to the team members. This plan defined specific roles and processes for each member of the “Super Team”. In addition, these processes replaced those of our organization. As the on-boarding continued each community saw a renewed engagement by our critical community leaders and the teams they led. In retrospect, it gave our team members confidence in what they did from a Clinical perspective and allowed them to go sell. Within our first six weeks we were able to see revenue rates increase in all the 7 communities. Over the following weeks we saw the Quality mix increase in each community no less than 10 percent with two communities increasing over 30 percent. These 7 communities saw their reputation increase in the marketplace and enjoyed overall increase in profitability. The results exceeded my expectations which led to widening the scope of work with Maun-Lemke and continued the relationship until I left that organization in July 2016.
The second time I engaged with Maun-Lemke was on a startup organization with 11 underperforming assets. The Maun-Lemke team came in and immediately worked with both community leadership and organizational leadership towards the implementation of a complete Business Development process. This engagement was much more far reaching in scope resulting in an extensive communication, teaching and operational plan of attack. The Maun-Lemke team basically was the Business Development arm for Focused Care Partners for our first 24 months and continued to work with us as we took that process internal. Focused Care Partners saw two critical benefits from our engagement. First, and most obvious was the development of a Business Development process and complimented with extensive training and leadership engagement. Secondly, we saw each community increase in overall census as well as Quality mix that led to increased earnings year over year. As we continue to develop our own processes the Maun-Lemke experience and knowledge will be a part of our culture. At both organizations they exceeded my expectations.

Continuum Development Services
MAUN-LEMKE was a key part of the professional team that won the prestigious 10th Annual M&A Advisor Award in 2011 for the Lower Middle-Market Deal of the Year (over $25M to under $50M) for the acquisition of Fairview Ministries, Inc. by Lifespace DG, LLC. Continuum Development Services’ contracted with MAUN-LEMKE to work with the Fairview team to increase the Medicare/managed (MMC) census and the average Resource Utilization Group (RUG) payment to reach a goal of improving net margin by $1.2 million.
With the assistance of Clint Maun and his staff, the MMC census improved in a six-week period from 22 at the beginning of June 2010 to 44 in mid-July. MAUN-LEMKE far exceeded CDS’ net income targets during the six-month engagement. Clint Maun and his team provided Fairview staff with the capabilities to continue the positive performance and during the next year, the MMC census ranged between 38 and 48 while the community went through bankruptcy and sale to another senior living provider.
Our firm values Maun-Lemke’s tried and true processes, Clint’s humor, attention to details, celebration of successes, and exceptional results, which are all vital in a challenging turnaround. Over 25 years ago, I engaged MAUN-LEMKE to improve nursing staff recruitment and retention resulting in elimination of over $1M in nurse agency expense.
Since 2003, CDS has completed almost 200 operation reviews. Over 80 of these clients have violated one or more covenants in their bond documents requiring management consultant reports. MAUN-LEMKE has been involved in over a dozen of these projects with the same excellent results.
CDS looks for every opportunity to engage MAUN-LEMKE to eliminate nurse agency, increase MMC census, and other work where creating high-functioning frontline teams is critical to success.

It is without hesitation that | highly recommend Maun-Lemke and Associates to your organization.
We have worked with Clint and his team on building revenue through very structured and detailed programs by utilizing their system of 12-week plans. Their training manuals and programs are second to none. By utilizing Clint and his team, you will get customization by facility, interactive communication and valuable insight.
We have worked with their team developing overall and premium census. Their national knowledge and vast expertise has saved us valuable time in researching specialty programs as they have helped develop and seen most programs somewhere in the country.
In addition, we have implemented their programs and systems in all our homes. Again, each home creates a 12-week plan with feedback from Clint’s team. Their customer service program is an essential core to all 16 of our homes.
It is important to note many of our homes are consistently at or near 100% occupancy; however, we still have Clint and team provide industry insight and guidance. This also keeps the focus on revenue growth. We also use Clint for regional and corporate meetings as a refresher of ideas and motivation. Clint is a dynamic speaker and motivator who will keep the attention of your staff in a positive and entertaining manner. Quite frankly, our staff loves working with Clint and his team.
Lastly, I have been in the industry for 35 years and cannot think of a more qualified group to assist your organization with building your revenue and census.

We used Clint Maun's consulting services ot assist us with retention and recruiting. Clint and Cheryl have the skills we needed to assist us in decreasing our turnover and taught us new techniques for retaining staff.
Clint's initiatives brought us refreshing out of the box ideas and kept us to a timeline to implement these techniques to make a direct impact on our turnover in the 6 months we worked with Clint. The programs he has developed taught us to think of our employees in a different light and in one that would help us keep them and ensure they feel valued.
Clint's programs not only helped us end our agency usage but most importantly they helped change the culture of the organization and decrease the negativity we had in our building. As a result of these changes, we have been successful in retaining our new employees!
I would highly recommend Clint Maun's consulting services and believe they can make a difference in any health care environment.

It is my pleasure to recommend Maun-Lemke Speaking & Consulting as your next healthcare consultant. For many years Maun-Lemke has worked with our healthcare organization on workforce management and census development strategies.
Recently, our organization completed a 16-week workforce management course with Maun- Lemke. The 16-week course provided several process improvement tools that helped our organization become more efficient. Our intent as an organization was to reduce staffing agency dollars while at the same time retaining new hires. Towards the end of the 16-week program, we were able to reduce our staffing agency costs by 75%. In addition, two of our locations became agency free.
I am confident that Maun-Lemke will help improve your organization's workforce and reduce your staffing agency dollars.
