Unfortunately, age can make a difference in perspectives, motivations, expectations and goals. Research has shown that the generation you were born in has much to do with your work habits. Sixty-year-olds are working beside twenty-year-olds, and college graduates are overseeing employees old enough to be their parents. New job entrants are changing careers faster than college students change majors which creates frustration for employers struggling to retain and recruit talented high-performers. Unlike boomers who tend to put a high priority on career, today’s youngest workers are focused on making their jobs accommodate their family and personal lives.

This session will provide keys to unlocking the generational gap and make age differences a positive influence in the workplace. Knowing the characteristics of the generations will allow you to bridge the gap resulting in a cohesive team that works together.

Objectives:
Upon the completion of this program, the participants will be able to:
  1. Understand age and generational differences that affect communication.
  2. Build teams comprised of different age groups to work together to reach their goals with positive outcomes.
  3. Implement proven results-oriented methods for optimizing positive teamwork within the multi-generational workforce.
This session will include lecture, facilitated group discussion, and PowerPoint slides/handouts. The session length can be customized in length from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours.
